I recommend:

Chronicle Of The Roman Republic

and

Chronicle Of The Roman Emperors

 

I'm looking for any similar books that provide a chronological/complete history of the Roman Empire--must be highly illustrated. I'm also looking for maps with complete lists of ALL Roman towns and major settlements--together with the main roads--for as many countries as possible!

 

For example, how many Roman towns were in Gaul? Which ones were closest to the Rhine? How many were built in Germany before AD 9?
