Jet Engine Test Cell on board the USS Abraham Lincoln during WESTPAC '98

The engine is an F404-GE-400 (in afterburner for effect of course!) from an F/A-18

I was the Test Cell supervisor and primary operator from 1996-1998

Wow...when I first looked at this I thought it was a torch or something...then I saw you next to it...o_O I'll bet its very loud, and very hot in there.

Luckily this test cell was outside on the back of the ship. Though it was still quite loud. Really loud depending on the engine being tested. I wore double hearing protection and still watched my hearing test results get steadily worse...
