part of the western defences connecting Luguvallium to Glannaventa.This is a very old photo I took 20 years ago and have re-scanned the negative with "reasonable results". The site of the fort overlooks the Solway Estuary

 

I got it wrong -this is 30 years ago!

I'd say the results were quite fine!

 

A lot older.

I didnt realise how much commercial negatives deteriorate with age-I produced my own ektachrome slides alongside these Ferrania spools, the slides have stayed stable.
