Incidentaly while in Asheville, North Carolina this past weekend and I had a wonderful couple of beers by Green Man Ales at Jack of the Wood. Quite delicious.

Very nice picture! it seems that this is a rendering of the Bamberg Green Man from Germany (13th Century church)

Well, I think it is much more appropriate as your Avatar given your herbalist background. It looks quite good.

Pertinax - did you ever see that 80s series of Robin Hood, Clannad soundtrack. Robin was characterised as a devotee of Herne ?

Yes I did , and quite well done to. At first the "merry men" were not tooo keen on Robin as the Chosen of Hern.

Most interesting then that Silvanus is a deity of the Roman devotees of the hunt.
