Wow! Those crowds are CLOSE! I didn't realize they were so close to the action.

 

Is this historically accurate?

That was the point of my post, we are all drilled to think of Gladiatorial combat as "big scale , big stage" but in Republican times this represents the reality. I suppose its really like a large dojo, as you know you dont need much room to have a fight !

And yes, this is an accurate reconstruction, huge resources were put into this to ensure veracity.
