Interesting....wanting to see what else is unearthed by these archaeologists, could lead to more clues about this city before it was Rome. Apparentley, Rome built over the site unaware of its history.
I voted for Venice, with Constantiople a close second.

As others have already pointed out, a different choice could have been easily made in 1300 or 1500. Venice in 1400 A.D. already possessed it's most charming aspect, natural beauty.
