  2. I'd be interested to know that as well. The article didn't put a price tag on the find. Any guesses?
  3. For whatever it's worth I recently saw an episode of "Ancient Discoveries" on The Antikythera Mechanism. They spent a lot of time giving a back history of mechanical inventions in Ancient Greece, focusing mainly on water clocks. You may find it of interest.

  5. At the time didn't Alexander have an advantage in terms of military technology? My understanding is that he was using catapults and ballistas by then and the Romans were not. Would this have impacted things in our hypothetical confrontation?
  6. I wonder what they'll do with this stuff? Maybe make a nice mull wine? Or some cider?
  7. Seriously? Wow. That's pretty bad. We've pwned Washington the last few years. 10-4 on Matt Millen. It's amazing he's held onto that job as long as he has. He must have naked photos of William Clay Ford or something.
  8. Don't know anything about the layout of this tomb, but you'd think they'd have gone over every square inch of the joint by now.
  9. In their 16-3 beatdown of the Eagles last night, the G Men tie the NFL record for sacks in a game with 12 and Osi Umenyiora records the 2nd highest total ever in a game with 6. Umenyiora and Matthias Kiwankuka are now 1st and 3rd in the NFL in sacks.
