Try BBC Radio 4 Extra. Sounds right up your street.

Nice Blog, Doc. I'm inspired to blog something about Halloween myself. Watch this space to see if I ever get round to it. And congratulations to the Giants.

LZ I can take or leave . . . Did that make me sound like Yoda? I mean I can take or leave LZ.

. . . and so having diverged, our musical tastes are back in perfect sync. I love TMBG. My favourite is a little known track called "I'm Your Boyfriend Now" from "The Else" album.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkXLNWNBOz0 if you're curious.

There you go, Doc, we've now found where our musical tastes diverge. The Eagles are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. It all started (predictably) with Hotel California, and (much less predictably) the lesser known and uncharacteristic instrumental

Best of luck with the whole 'boyfirend moving in' thing, Doc. Is marriage on the cards? You don't know the true meaning of happiness until you get married. . . . of course, it's too late by then.

A government warning said that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel ,blankets or sleeping bag, extra clothing including a scarf hat and gloves. 24 hour supply of food and drink de-icer , rock salt, torch with spare batteries, safety triangle, tow rope, petrol can, 1st aid kit and jump leads . . . I looked a right burk on the bus this morning.

I carefully create an hour by hour plan for every tour I do. All the timings, visits, etc. planned in intricate detail.
In practice, they never turn out like I planned, so I've now developed a universal plan covering all tours. It consists of just 2 words: - "Wing it!"
I've followed it to the letter, and it has worked really well so far.

I'm sure I'd be able to help out with the hunt for Near Earth Objects if they gave me a telescope.

I'm not even DOCTOR Coxitup - just plain Mister.

You could have said that because GhostOfClayton is available in all these universes, no woman is safe . . . actually . . . . point taken.

I have so many nieces and nephews that, even if they all took up cheap hobbies, the sum total will be expensive.
Anyway, if I use my December money for food, water, sanitation, warmth and being able to stop the car, I still need to find telescope money.
I hear there's cash to be made down the docks doing favours for sailors . . . I presume that means sewing buttons on and such.

Being a Language Acquisition person myself, I truly enjoyed this parody. It was a great giggle and laugh aloud.
Are you aware of

Congrats - there must be something in the water over there - that's the second baby photo from that area I've been shown in as many weeks!

You can get a non-blocked version by searching Scottish and Elevator on YouTube. It's quite funny, especially in light of how our overly accented brethren from north of the border have taken to the iPhone 4S.

I love those dotty 'magic eye' things. The first time I saw one, I was completely blown away.

Hmmm . . a whole day at home without the Other Half to interfere with the sloth and self indulgence . . . The perfect gift! Where's that remote control?

I suppose I'd better explain (though Lord knows I really didn't want to!)
The large island at the North Western tip of Wales is called Anglesey (pronounced Angle-C). I hoped that anyone living in the UK would see 'Angle-A' extrapolate straight away and realise it was a pun on Anglesey/Angle-C). Overseas readers can be forgiven not knowing about Anglesey, in the same way that few UK readers would be able to point to Long Island on an unmarked map.
Apologies for this very weak attempt at humour. Needless to say, the whole scenario played out hilariously in my head before the event.
-
Well done, Melvadius. I was indeed punning it as Angle-C.
It tickled me at the time, but I accept that it lost something along the way.
-
To extrapolate further, in the example shown, not only is the lower angle 'Angle A' (as shown), but the right angle is 'Angle B'.
Doc would be forgiven for not seeing it. Not so, Melvadius.
-
Let me echo the congrats of the others here.

I have nothing else to add, so why did I post this comment?

I love curry . . .the hotter the better. Within medical tolerances, obviously, but other than that . . . I killed off my last reamining taste bud in the 1980s, using Tindaloo as my weapon of choice, so my food needs to be spicey.
Sprouts . . I also love sprouts.
However, sprout vindaloo? Not really sure about that. Sounds like it could be a significant contributing factor to global warming all on its own.
