Any news on the 2nd interview yet, Doc?
-
I never did watch Eastenders, though I always had a bit of a thing for Dirty Den's wife, Angie. I believe she's Mrs Brian May now.
-
Kosmo, you display the wisdom of Solomon.
-
I must admit, I thought you were married with kids. Not sure where I got that from, though.
Myself and Mrs OfClayton met at a friend's wedding - I was friends with the groom, she was friends with the bride.
-
"Disapprove Mightily" - how did you know Mrs OfClayton's first names?
How do these self cleaning ovens work, Doc? Do they just superheat and burn the muck off?
-
I wish you hadn't blogged this, Caldrail. The oven in the main kitchens at OfClayton Towers (which has been hiding behind a blind spot in my mind's eye for quite some time now) is well and truly ready for a clean . . . and now your blog has caused it to leap out from behind that blind spot and demand attention.

It's quite interesting. If the Greeks weren't in the Euro, there would be much less motivation for other countries to bail them out. Yet the Greeks seem to want out at the moment. So who will bail them out next time if they're using the Drachma again?
I think people are only saying that the Euro's in crisis, because there's an option for nations to drop it for their original currency. If, as a nation, you're already using that original currency, your finances would still be just as far up the creek, but you couldn't blame the currency itself. The UK are not blaming sterling, yet things are pretty grim here.

This song can also be found on my iPod!
Best of luck with the interview. let us know how you get on.
-
Yet again, Doc, we prove to have the same musical taste.

I fear $127,000 will merely buy a sub-orbital ticket. Still, when I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be an astronaut. OfClayton Towers must be worth more than $127,000 . . . . Maybe I could do something extremely stupid, and then bum away the rest of my life in a VW Camper, traveling around Europe. Sounds tempting.

Congrats on your lady friend even if you are both addicted to fish - I like them well enough but they don't like me
Fish, or lady friends?

I did very badly in my A-levels. At first I put it down to exam-angst, but it turned out the main reason for the poor grades was that I'm as thick as sh*t.

Had Bambi been killed outright by the impact with the GhostMobile, it would have been removed, drained, and hanging in someone's garage by morning. The village folk of Aquis-of-the-Romans will readily devour the local wildlife. The man who lives at the end of the garden (he's not a hermit, but his garden abutts the end of my garden) has a freezer full of pigeon breasts and rabbit meat.

One for, one aginst. Just like I predicted, a 50:50 split.

Sledgehammer? Once in a lifetime? Black Velvet? Sleeping Satellite? I bet if you two each listed your favourite 20 tracks, they'd already be on my iPod!
On the subject of mid-life crises. It's something you should plan out in detail and look forward to. Mine is to pack it all in, and bum it round Europe in a VW Camper. Admittedly, there's no sign of it happening yet, and the clock's ticking!

I don't believe in all that astrology nonsence . . . But we Geminis are all like that!

Thanks DoL (and you were so enthusustic you thanked me twice!) Good reporting is easy when you have an exciting subject to go at.
Hope you make it back across the pond soon.
As to bare-chested gladiatrixes - maybe they did do a bout or two 'au naturel', and I didn't post the photos because this is a family website? Hmmm. . . .
OK . . . they didn't!

I lost SO many hours of my life playing Duke Nukem 3D. In fact, I dread to think how many man-years went into various computer games, starting with Space Invaders. When I was at 6th Form College, I needed to get two buses home. I worked out it was just possible to get off the 1st bus, run down to 'Lucky Las Vegas', get 9990 on the Space Invaders, and run back just in time to catch the 2nd bus. I did this most days. How sad!

Those who haven't bothered with Torchwood because it's a Dr Who spin-off should probably give it a try (if they're both sci-fi fans and quite broadminded). It is much more adult/dark/gritty/edgy than Dr Who.
-
I'm very jealous, Caldrail. I'd love to have a go at flying.
-
I'd be quite interested to see the US version of Life On Mars.
-
Wie kann ich das vergessen? Es war sehr gut!

Go for that hike! It's free, healthy, and you may just meet that hunky hiker-type. And let me know which trail you chose - always interested in that kind of thing.
PS Even after 21 years, Mrs OfClayton hasn't given up trying to change me. It's not that I'm actively resisting the effort, but I can't even change myself, so what chance does she stand?

Surely everyone knows that Doncaster is the true home of sensible Englishness. At the outside, it may be Barnsley.
