    Find Tomb Under Roman Forum

sorry about the bad link. that was odd i wonder what happened
  3. Archaeologists digging beneath the Roman Forum have discovered a 3,000-year-old tomb that pre-dates the birth of ancient Rome by several hundred years. State TV Thursday night showed an excavation team removing vases from the tomb, which resembled a deep well. Archaeologists were excavating under the level of the ancient forum, a popular tourist site, when they dug up the tomb, which they suspect is part of an entire necropolis, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.... [edited out bad link and added partial story text, PP]

    Cleopatra

Cleopatra I thought I would pass this info along I just ordered this book for $5.39 I think it is a superb deal. I really love Michael Grant's style of writing and trying to find as many as book as I can written by him, since many seem to be out of print. Has anyone read this? Just curious. I know this is not directly about Roman History but a part of it.

    Hbo Rome Second Season

Though this is similar to posting above I thought I post it in their FAQ they now have it listed to come back in 2007 and production is starting this March http://www.hbo.com/corpinfo/faq/romefaq.shtml One issue that I always felt hurt HBO is the timespan is usually very long especially for a TV show. It really has to have a superb following such as Sopranos to pull it off. Some complaints from friensds who watch other HBO series, say it so long they forget all about it or what happened and hard for them to get back in. I understand it takes a long itme to produce these shows but too bad they could not speed it up a bit. I do beleive though this season is a make it or break it...by third or fourth episode if it does not pick up to what they want, probbaly be last season, I hope not.

Roman Sex: 100 BC - AD 250 by John Clarke

Ursus, Can I ask where you purchased this book? I cannot find it anywhere in NYC? I did find a used copy from Amazon but was hoping for a brand new copy if possible. Thanks
  9. I have that book, first book I picked up. It is a very good book to get an overall history, I really like Michael grant's style of writing.

    Hbo Rome Second Season

I have not heard anything yet from any of the NY local papers, and they usually get this info really quick. I am pretty sure they already renewed, and doubt they can back out of it now, though I guess anything is possible.

    Hbo Rome and... BBC too

Wow that last episode I thought was brilliant on how they tied everything together in the end. How they got Vorenus away in time. I won't give too much info for those who have not seen it yet. When the show ended I did not move for like 10 minutes, I as kind of sad in a way becuase I knew it will be a longtime before I see it again.

    The Roman Emperors

I picked up from Barnes and Noble The Roman Emperors: A Biographical Guide to the Rulers of Imperial Rome, 31 B.C. - A.D. 476 by Michael Grant I was actually surprised to find it B&N does not seem to carry many Grants books, but I found this on a section for last minute bargain gifts or something like that. I only started to read some, but I really enjoy how it is laid out. I really like Michael Grant's style of writing and wish I can find more of his books.

    Tacitus The Annals

I am reading this book as well right now. I will be perfectly honest there are at times that I am quite lost. I have never read this in school or not that I recall. For myself it is difficult reading. Though I am still enjoyig it overall.
