The Roman-era sketons found in Essex

Previous Roman artifacts have been discovered in Chelmsford, in the British county of Essex, about 40 miles (70 km) from London (see post below). Three late Roman-era skeletons have been uncovered in a parking lot in Essex.

One of the bodies was buried with a copper alloy crossbow brooch at the shoulder, suggesting it was worn with a cloak, and with a belt buckle.

The spokesperson says it suggests the burial is a Roman official or an army officer.
