guy Posted May 19 Report Share Posted May 19 (edited) A Roman gravestone, removed from Italy during WWII and relocated to a backyard in New Orleans, Louisiana, has finally been returned to Italy. (See the previous post about the find below.) The gravestone was for a second-century AD Roman sailor of the Praetorian Fleet Misenensis. It had been missing from a museum in Civitavecchia, Italy, since the Second World War. The gravestone was part of a repatriation ceremony in Rome (pictured below).
