Marcus Antonius Aquila 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 can anyone suggest any books that are written in novel form on any period during the roman empire? ive enjoyed history books on the topic but i find some of them to be too dry. i want something more entertaining. id like to read about julius caesar and the civil war, augustus, scipio africanus and hannibal, nero and the turbulent time after his death, caligula .. just really looking for some fun reading. Princeps 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 The First Century - Emperors, Gods, and Everyman (William Klingaman) An account of some of the major events of the first century, written in novel style (he doesn't add any fictional events, from what I can see). Approx 2/3 Roman Empire, 1/3 1st centuryChinese dynasty. I enjoyed it. The First Century: Emperors, Gods, and Everyman
