G-Manicus Posted October 19, 2007 Report Share Posted October 19, 2007 Click here for full story Prague, Czech Republic (AHN) - Dubbing it as "a find of the century", Czech archaeologists on Friday proudly unraveled a statue of a woman believed to be originated in 4,800 B.C.- 4,700 B.C. or translated to nearly 7,000 years of age. "No statue of such dimensions and such type has been uncovered either in Europe or in Orient so far. It has a great scientific importance," said Masaryk University expert Vladimir Podborsky in an interview with daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD). The statue, measuring half meter high and made of ceramic was found in Masovice, South Moravia area of the Czech Republic. "The statue was decorated with yellow paint. It is of an immense archaeological value," said archaeologist Zdenek Cizmar. The report said that statue was made by the people of the prehistorical culture known as "Moravian Painted Ceramic".
