  1. Oh but playing with fire is SO MUCH FUN!! ::is trying very hard to make a career of playing with fire:: Fire is an addiction. Seriously. Don't get started. :furious:

Congrats on the AP score! Those tests are evil! I know, I took (and passed) two of them (4 on English and 3 on Chem). What AP class were you taking?

The 4 was on United States History, and this coming school year brings AP European History, AP Economics, and AP Government.

    Hehe.

  2. I will be able to vote for the first time this next election, as I will be turning 18 that year. I am pretty excited. So far, the only candidate I've really gotten to know is Barack Obama, mainly because he is appealing to the younger generation through the internet and other means. I like him because he seems charismatic and a bright young leader, capable of bringing some life into the stagnant. However, a guy who respects and upholds the constitution catches my eye. I may have to look into him more also.

I'm not going to vote for someone because they belong to a particular party, but because they will do what I want them to do.

  3. The Economist is a wonderful magazine. They send them faster than I can read 'em.

So are you reading these as a skeptic or as an eager student?

I'd have say eager student. Despite having a tv and full cable in my room I rarely watch it. That means I miss the news a lot. I got the economist so I can keep up on world news and learn about all the little stuff going on in countries you never hear about on the news. I do realize some of the articles are tilted to the writer's views, but the news sections keep me informed.

  4. I've learned and concluded today's terrorism problem is aftermath of Soviet intervention in 3rd world countries.

I'd say Soviet and American intervention. Here's a question for you... what are the differences/similarities of Russia's current terrorist problems and our own?

True, true... however, our intervention was probably more monetary aid than anything. We don't see terrorists running around with M-16s.

Russian terrorism? I haven't read up on it very much, but if my memory serves me, I believe it is mostly seperatists in outlying regions of Russia, such as the Caucuses. I'm probably wrong, I have yet to read on them.
