  1. I guess I never realized stone could be damaged by lightning. How scary for the tourists.
  2. I wonder if my library would have it? I'll have to check.
  3. No such button on any page for me now. Hope you get your book back. I tried to Google the subject to find the title but was unsuccessful.
  4. Way off topic, but I read a post of yours from long ago about how you also got "stuck" in UNRV land - i.e. unable to log out. How did you finally manage to do so? There are no options on any of the pages I bring up on this forum. Someone suggested a forum update may have caused the problem. Did you delete cookies?
  5. I watched this documentary series on TV recently. It was very good. Much of it centered on the villa with the bakery, laundry, and a third business I don't recall right this minute. Also with all the workmen's tools and building supplies. I recognized it as being in the article(s) and videos you posted here Guy.
  6. Well, now I see some icons in the lower right hand corner, a blue circle with a heart, a number 1, and some symbol that when I clicked on it, it said "Sign in", but it's a "Grow" account? I give up.
  7. "These are the views I get. I don’t see the log-out option, either. " Yep. That's how the page looks to me now, different than before.
  8. From reading info online, it seems I could try clearing cookies while clearing my history when I leave a site, but some years ago I did that and basically got locked out of some other discussion boards and had one heck of a time getting back in them. So I'm hesitant to try it again.
  9. Oh, guess I remembered wrong. I thought you led tourists on tours of the wall. Do you have photos of your models?
  10. Above comment is in regard to the scroll mentioning Plato's burial site.
  11. Well I am still mostly a lurker rather than a poster - but I remember you! Didn't you have a connection to Hadrian's wall i.e. employment as a guide?? Welcome back, look forward to your posts.
  12. On this page, the only icons I see in the top upper right corner now are three: one for "unread content", a plus sign, and the search icon. My name doesn't appear anywhere at the top. No drop down menu icon. In the past I always logged in here. I have Forums discussions page bookmarked and enter the site that way, not the home page. When I do go to a home page, I don't see any place to log in or out. Maybe it's my browser. I had already emailed Peter about an issue with not being able to access the site at all due to an icon on my toolbar telling me it was "not secure". Obviously that got resolved as I am here. I think I actually logged in finally by requesting to create a new post and was told to log in. Was able to, but that option has disappeared. I'll wait awhile and try again or contact Peter.
  13. So I finally found a way to log in, but now I can't find the "log-out" option. 😕
  14. I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Right from the beginning, it had a certain modern day political vibe to it. Subtle messages throughout. Those were done well, but overall not a good production - my opinion anyway.
  15. This mini series begins tomorrow night, April 2nd, at 9pm, on our PBS station. According to this link, it was made in 2023. Perhaps others have watched it already. Looks like it might be interesting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30272530/
  16. Enjoyed that very much. Thanks for sharing.
  17. The Max Miller video was great. Thanks for sharing.
  18. I wasn't sure in which forum to post this but I'll try here. On a travel forum I frequent, someone posting in a thread about the Super Bowl ads asked: "Wonder to what extent (and how) ancient sporting events were tied to commercial interests? Ancient Greek Olympics? Ancient Mayan handball tournament rituals? Gladiators in the Colosseum and elsewhere? " 😊
  19. First I've ever heard of the Draco. So interesting, great video demonstrating the sound.
  20. Enjoyed the video a lot. Gives one much to think about.
