Ramses II's hair safe from Net sale

Recommended Posts

Strands of hair from the head of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II came home to Egypt on Monday after the son of a French laboratory worker tried to sell them on the Internet, the state news agency MENA said.

An Egyptian archaeological mission had flown to Paris to bring home the strands, apparently taken from the mummy of Ramses when it went to France for treatment in the 1970s...

This is also important as Rameses the Great has been noted to have red hair, hena was not used proved throught DNA testing. Also he is the most important pharaoh of Egypt for without him Egypt would have never revived after centuries of foreign rule.

I'm just curious as to how they got these strands of hair and why they want to buy hair over three thousand years old.

Perhaps they were hoping to clone Ramses as a living attraction for a Dynastic Park. Go figure the French.
