  1. Migraines? ("Have two blood-lettings and call me in the morning.")
  2. Sorry, guys. So you can't see that picture? I didn't host it independently ... it's right from the site. Oh, well ... here it is (AGAIN! )
  3. No to mention knowing that you've hit it with an axe and will get away with it. Ha! LOL! Thank God for "Crazy Glue"!
  4. Hmmmm ... involved in a conspiracy but only fell from grace? Not executed? Putting my limited logical and intellectual skills to work, I think that would most likely place him in the Republic, as opposed to the Empire. I'm going to go with everyone's favorite feces-wearing Consul ...
  5. Wow. Very weird. When I first replied the pic was there. Now it's not. Nor was it in your reply. I went in an took out the img code from my post and voila! It shows up in yours! What the ... ? Well, here is a link to the pic nonetheless: click Trying to post the pic one more time as well:
  6. If it's Julia Domna, I say we give it to her. A+ effort on THE Augusta's part.
  7. What a thrill it must have been for them: The site says they've update their field notes as of 9/12 ... but I don't see anything new.
  8. Hmmm ... how about Helena? (wife of Constantinus and mother to Constantine)
  9. I will once more go with "Agrippina the elder" (who I think I've guessed for every one so far. LOL!)
  10. Octavian was an Equestrian, or are those considered to be Plebian as well? Ie - Anything below a Patrician?
  11. All my faves are actually from Norse mythology ... Fenris Wolf, Midgard Serpent, Garm. For purposes of the topic at hand I'll go with Medusa.
  12. Ah, gracias. Those are some pretty active bots they got there! LOL!
  13. I'm a little late to the party here, but here's a link to a number of online books on Rome geared toward younger readers. I offer this without editorial comment as to their content. The Baldwin Online Children's Literature Project
  14. Thanks, folks. Interesting. I also assume that's why Google and Yahoo come up all over the place as well as folks are reading the sight through their search windows.
  15. Moonlapse: I'm curious why it always shows a couple of hundred "guests" browsing the boards? Do you truly have that much traffic here?
  16. Having read through all the ideas presented here , I note that as usual the comments have covered most all of the possibilities in a scholarly manner, but this subject, first of all lends itself to a fictional treatment of a Rome never having fallen. You can explore that possibility In Robert Silverberg
  17. Ooooo ... how about Messalina and Brittanicus?
  18. Agrippina (and "Little Boots" ) ?
  19. I'm sure every able bodied male, from Servii to Patrician, would probably be involved in this to some degree:
