I should research before I ask these questions, but does anyone have any suggestions on books about the early Roman Republic?

How about Judge Crater...
Here you go GO: Judge Crater, is that you?
-
That really is rather witty!
-
Definitely do it for now... If it doesn't work and you're miserable, then don't do it anymore.
That being said, I know deep down that you need to not be in retail like this. I venture to say that the Great Mother feels the same...

Has anybody heard of Theodor Mommsen, R

$100 is a good deal compaired to what is listed in BookFinder...

Hail to Zeus. Justice was done.
Indeed, Zeus and Hera Epikotos were presented with libations and appropriate offerings before I left the house. :notworthy:

Is that a devil or a benign Divine spirit?
I hate Greek speakers!
Come come dear sir! Would I chalk anything up to something I don't believe in? Christian devil, HA!

Pantagathus are you really Seth Gecko ? You are always under ballistic , vampyre or katana attack , but always emerge composed and having eaten well.
I chalk it up to daimonios... :notworthy:

Of a sudden a fusillade of shots was heard from outside. P hit the deck like a dive bomber going at Yamato. Not a big deal.
Actually, GO is trying to protect me from inquiry... In reality, I was caught up in it outside... I was on the phone with the Domina when two rival sushi delivery boys started going at each other as if it was Kill Bill 3 and one of the nihontos sliced my jacket. I went inside, asked the bartender for a piece, he knew that I was with Don Tomasso so he gave it to me...
So I went back out side and fired a couple of shots at the fish peddlers... :2guns:
Not withstanding a great day! Don Tomasso is most gracious :notworthy:
BTW, the Blue Gouda was a real standout and Fairway market is a gem. I'll post pictures when I finally get a chance.
I'd like to add that the sfogliatelle's were not on the menu, it was the Don's influence that facilitated their being produced in the kitchen that night. Delicious!
(Doc, I ain't worried about the Domina, I think Don Tomasso and I have an understanding... :whip: )

Send some down to the South this winter please...

You're very welcome & also your piece on devotion is dead on.

Your prayer to Morrigan is quite lovely
May your journey be an illuminating and safe one!

You can have some of my brain cells. Why not, I'm bound to kill 'em all eventually anyway...

Very interesting!

Congrats!
Not what I was expecting you to say, but Congrats...

You had some guts to shout at a cornered criminal with knives.
You never know how you will react until in the situation. In hindsight, there was just something about his body language that triggered my subconcious to make me assume a somewhat dominant posture I guess. And yes, thanks be to the Gods it worked. :notworthy:
Ursus, I did in fact make a vow to the Gods (covered all my bases) that if he were to be caught I would dedicate a sacred grove & shrine to them on my mother's property. I visited the site where this will be yesterday and lo & behold, a huge hawk swooped down and flew right over the monument rock that will serve as the foundation of the alter.
The Gods were apparently pleased & it was stunning...
Thank you all for your well wishes.

What rubbish! I can't believe they allow such sites to exist on the Internet!
Who runs that piece of filth!?

Why did it have to be Lamia!?! Surely this spells doom, I'd rather face the Harpies!

Buck up little camper! It's not the end of the world, just the end of yours...
Seriously though, best of luck with all that Doc... We're all counting on you.

How F***ing true...
One interesting note, our own Government (USA) does not pay tuition assistance to it's employees for history. It's lumped together with other humanities as a sort of recreational education not worthy of their money or their employees time...

Yep, another superb job Pertinax!

Great stuff Pertinax!

However this is just racial garbage, the idea that people are born superior.
Or do you consider it garbage because Egypt is not at the center of the hypothesis?
Bad day!

I'm sorry to hear that she passed. My sincere condolences.
Are you feeling any better? Did you get into your safe?
