I remember on the history channel (that gave me the idea)that he found what was it and said eureka( did he really ran naked down the streets).
Did the Romans actually want him alive, what a tragedy that the Romans killed him.Who knows what else he could have achieved.

Well, it's generally not well known, but on the sidelines of the battlefield they had comely young women in scanty red outfits cheering and dancing. Occasionally they would spell R-O-M-A with their arms and bodies.
Now that's really one interesting fact I can tell my Latin teacher.

It seems like this Spartacus really drove this forum crazy. I wonder where the guy is posting now.

The Germans I think were less brutal than the Romans. What makes the Germans seem more cruel than the Roman is just that their rituals or traditions aren't civilized(more likely culturally foreign to the Roman view) and so it brings on an impression great savagery than any other people.
And oh, didn't the Romans have a favorite time of day to watch executions.(I got it from the history channel documentaries.)

I clicked one, and it says error, so your calender must be wrong, the other one works.

Your site is very nice, it's much more artsy than UNRV, but still classical in a way. It's very nice, and you sure do have some graphic pics.

Does Barbarian Invasion include the Eastern Empire?

I remember seeing a chart in my Latin class that states 80% of scholarly words are derived from Latin. About 65-70 %(not sure, somewhere around there) of the whole english language is latin-derived. The remaning 30 % are probably mostly french, german, and swedish

Wow, I have lots and lots to learn and a long way to go.

Did everyone in Romania support and agree with the re-Romanization or did they just not care. Do Romanians take much pride in their past?
I'm just really curious because you don't see many nations in history that tries to revert back to the old.

You can use STETERUNT which is the in the perfect tense which translates into STOOD instead of STAND.
There are other words for stand, but this is what the real Romans would use to imply that they are standing. I prefer steterunt over stant because it grammatically sounds better in you have stood confounded rather than stand confounded.

Wow that's really one hardcore guy, I seem to get the feeling that he is also a pyscho.
Oh to stay on topic, another horrible punishment is the widespead getting your limbs and body pulled apart by horses going in different directions. I believe Hernando Cortes also used this method later on.

I went to the theaters yesterday and saw this preview that had characters British and Austrailian accents and it seemed like it was probably in the outback of Autrailia but the time period is modern, but it was called Wolf's Creek. I thought it was the Proposition or something at first.

I didn't think Britain still had that much of a political importance or happenings after the Fall. I just assumed that they were the old-fashioned conquer or get conquered again in a civil war.

Yay, but no, I haven't been around long enough.

Caesar's Siege Tactics
in Gloria Exercitus - 'Glory of the Army'
Posted
I have also read the Gallic Wars and sieges are quite common in it. There are some siege tactics described but I don't think they were detailed or all covered. Also, is it true Caesar's men could complete siege fortifications in a matter of days. I also remember that in one point, a large section of siege fortifications were undermanned.
