  1. I tend to think homosexuality was fine among the common Roman citizens, but if there were rumors of homosexuality in the aristocracy or anyone rich or in a high social position, then it's a big deal.
  2. ROman Names This link will help you out greatly, by the way, the daughter always takes the feminine form of her fathers family name
  3. I remembered something from the recent Spartacus movie and remembered the scene where the primam aciem( first line of battle or maniple) were marching down the steep ground and they were chanting something like how the Marines put on heavy or loud music to amp them up. So can anyone help me out what motivated or got Roman soldiers into the mood during battle.
  4. I was just really curious about Julius Caesar's conquest in Gual and also about Constantine, so I randomly searched the internet for good resources and happened to stumble upon this majestic site.
  5. Uh that would be complicated. There's no way to do it, but you can adopt a roman praenomen and cognomen.
  6. Just my opinion, but they all look ugly and the bright colors are kinda uhm gay. But with the exception of the heavy calvary, they look bad***. That is why I still prefer the legionary look or the crusader look.
  7. "Hey, baby, come to these gladiatorial games often?" Here's a much better grammatically correct translation: Ohene, femina, saepe his gladiatoris ludis venis? compared to Salve, Puella, spectare quotiens gladitorii? (mistakes: 1)Salve is the word for hello not hey, there is many words for hey 2) Obviously you don't have a real verb, rather a infinitive but still the wrong word spectare is to watch 3) The sentence is interrogative exspecting a yes or no answer, so you need to add the enclitic -ne 4) I suppose you can use quotiens as a adverb for often, but saepe is more common 5) other minor mistakes...
  8. I mention this too much about myself, but yeah, I'm good at translating latin in both ways well better at latin into english, because english into is so much more grammatically complex (ex. the hundreds of uses of the ablatives, indirect commands, double datives...) I'm taking Latin II in high school right now so I guess I can help out with translations.
  9. I really like Caesar, but Trajan I would have to say because he managed not to get himself assassinated and got everyone to like him.
  10. Hey, if there wasn't the Medevil Age, humanity would be colonizing the space by now. ( It's a true fact)
  11. In Hoc Signo Vinces ( In this sign you shall conquer)
  12. Here's the link The so-called mosaic "carpet" measuring 16 metres (53 feet) by 14.5 metres (48 feet), was uncovered in the Israeli coastal resort of Ceasarea and has been dated by archaeologists to the fifth and sixth centuries.
  13. Constantine (obviously from my username) "THE GREAT." Hey, without him, the Church wouldn't officially exist or get aid, which the Church is the last vestige of Roman Culture. And without the Church, we wouldn't really be Western would we.
  14. Uhhh: I'm a second year honors latin student (I'm in high school), so I guess I'm grammatical person who can translate and read latin( well I'm still finishing learning the subjunctive) I also do certamens and pretty good at it. Why am I taking latin class?( I go to a Jesuit High School)
