  1. Just a couple of things - Site performance is much better than with the previous host, but I do get this message at least 2 to 3 times a week, yes usually down for about 5-10 minutes only, happened at 6:12pm(Melbourne time) today:- No biggie but thought you'd want to know. I also get the "flood control" pretty regularly these days, which I thought had been disabled.
  2. I'm actually living at Barwon Heads, which is about 1 hour from Melbourne(an older ABC show called "Seachange" was filmed here), at the mouth of the Barwon River. It's not on the Bay, but just outside, about 15 minutes from Torquay(Point Break fame). This shot was at high tide, right at the point where the river meets the Bass Strait. Thanks for the commment - glad you liked it !
  3. Assuming you mean discontent among the middle and lower classes - could you give me some examples of this "widespread discontent" by way of quotes ?
  4. I think Suzhannah was saying that most acquisitions that lasted - were gained in the republican period, seems true enough to me. My UNRV map tells me that much.

  8. Looks a bit like a night photo - I'm no great photographer but I like the effects in this.
  9. Stormy Autum Day
  10. Don't know Tflex - something my mother often said to me while growing up.
  11. I do it myself Tflex - take the sources word when it agrees with me (Gracchi), but not when it disagrees(Caesar). Cato does the opposite - takes the sources word on Caesar, but not on the Gracchi. I think we could all learn from that old saying - "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater".
  12. As it will be sometime before it appears on Australian TV, and when it does it will probably be heavily cut, I'll order it as soon as it's out.
  13. Whatever you want to assume Phil is fine by me, but thanks anyway.
  14. It's fun to play ! More social than a lot of sports too I feel.
  15. Oh, don't be disappointed, who's to say what kind of "ball" it was.
  16. What the dictionary and I are saying, is that it can be either - defining those of Hebrew descent, or of those practising Judaism. Either way, I see you meant the religion, so it's all good.
  17. I don't claim that, I claim that they are both Pila - translation - Javelin (for throwing) Certainly they were two different weights as you suggest, but both are Javelins not Hastae (translation spear or pike) Here's another Polybius quote for you :- Note that line - "only the Triarii carry pikes(Hastae) instead of Javelins (Pila) Sorry furious just realised what you were saying, and to whom - I'm getting confused by the confused.
  18. Easy enough :- Polybius 6.23:- On another note. You need to back you claims when you make them some of which quite frankly are rediculous.
