Lets see :-
He has crime convictions dating back to the 80s. He lies in wait, observing behaviors of victims (your spare key), he has become a serial arsonist, he stole your girlfriends underwear, - this is all stacking up to "serial killer" if he hasn't yet he's well ahead on the progression.
I don't mean to scare you any further P, it's something you've probably already considered or the Police have. Glad he's locked up !
I am also colored by the episodes of "From the files of Dale Hinman" I have been watching lately on late night TV.

I've been away Honorius, but now must applaud your courage in being true to yourself. I just did a search on support groups for parents of homosexuals - and here's a URL - it might be something they could look at in an effort to come to terms with reality:- http://www.pflag.org/Get_Support.coming_out.0.html

I tend to get depressed these days if I sit down and watch the news, or a political commentary. At the moment it's only when a person feels the pain of what is the result of their apathy that they decide to do something about it, and sadly that is so often too late.

Hope everything goes well Spurius !

So how was everyone else's Easter sunday?
Not as eventful as yours was by the sound of things, but I did catch a large fish in the Barwon River......and ate some chocolate.

What did you think of the Titan pics from the Cassini mission ?

Hi Honorius, I know we have some species of small gropers, don't know what they are but I didn't see any.

Just goes to show that even in chains the senate was greater than that darling of Venus!
I love that term - darling of Venus, just something about it. I may have to use it in a song, it's crying out for that treatment.

Happy birthday Flavius !

Merry Christmas Viggen, sorry to hear about your grandmother.

I went through similar phases, accept for the Nazi part. Up until about 6 months ago I would have called myself an atheist also. Something happened then though, and I realised that the actual act of praying, or appealing to a higher power (whether you actually belive in it or not) helps to sort out things in my own mind, and solidify things I am striving for, and outcomes I want to achieve. In short I suppose I am still an athiest in a sense, because I believe my higher power is somewhere inside me, not external. Thats just my experience though.
With regard to why you wrote this entry, I don't really care because you've written a number of these thoughfull, pondering entries and I always enjoy reading them !

Suicide is a cowards way out of taking life on it's own terms. It is considerably less frightening and easier sometimes to end it all than to actually face ones problems and overcome them, but in the long term, I know what's more beneficial. That's not to say that I consider Romans who committed suicide to save their heirs cowards, that was a totally different kettle of fish.
I remember my grandfather, who served in the pacific during WW2 telling me one day how much he hated a new kind of bumper sticker that said "No Fear". I asked him why, he told me "If you feel no fear then you're just dumb and numb, but if you feel immense fear and take action regardless, then thats really to be admired"
The same can be said for life, which can be frightening, but ultimately rewarding for those that persevere.

The spider bite interests me, obviously you had to watch where you sat in Rome.
Priceless !

Thanks Viggen.
I ended up catching an Australian Salmon, and eating it. Only the one fish, but a good size and a meal for me.
Now it's back to work and another countdown to next weekend.

Must be an omen.

I guess kind of like a cross between Interpol, Dinosaur Jnr, The Pixies, with a bit of Australian Crawl (I'm sure you won't know these guys from the 80s) thrown in for good measure.
The meditations are a great source of inspiration to me in general, not just with music.

I work just for a paycheck, my job means nothing to me.
I'm not here not just because I don't like my job, but because I don't like people in general. I don't know many people that seriously enjoy ancient history. I didn't even know many in college. Most people in real life don't share my interests, that's why I'm on the internet.
I'm in the same boat Ursus, no one I know in my life shares my interests, in Art, History, matter a fact none of my friends or associates care much for anything other than going out and getting tanked on one thing or another.
Ultimately, we're both after another more satisfying life. I wonder what people did before the internet when they were seeking that ? Drugs ? Joined the Army ? Joined a book club I guess.
Thanks for commenting on my comment !
