GO~
The Wheel of the Year is a calendar, in the round. Each of the lines on the wheel represents a holiday. It's usually used by Wiccans, but I believe it is far older than Wicca.
To use it in Runic divination, you basically use it to tell time. Where the Runes fall on the calendar tells approximately when you can expect prophesied events to occur.
Nephele~
Not that I know of. Someone has probably ascribed different Runes to the different holidays however I do not.

Thanks Decimus!!
-
Thanks Nephele! And beautiful bag!
-
Nope. those black beads are rainbow obsidian. The picture does not show the rainbows well unfortunately.
And the others which kind of look like hematite are Tahitian pearls (of the Swarovski cultured veriety)
-
And the laxatives? In the middle ages antimony metal pills were sold as "re-usable" pills..the constipated person swallowed one (about pea size) vomited and otherwise discharged effluvia, and the pill was retrived from said discharge for future use.It is said that such pills were passed down from generation to generation...
EWWWW.....
-
True that, LOL.
Morrigan and Jupiter keep me very busy.
-
I'm only 19...I THINK I was still in high school when I reached Patrician status. I've been here for years.
-
A nun? No thanks!
It's celebRate, not celibate!
Why have one God when you can have many?
-
Some. Not as much as I would like, but I've been busy, and I sort of lost interest while waiting for the new one to arrive. I hate how that works out.
-
Actually Eolh was right; I call it Algiz, so the name Eolh threw me for a loop.
You're right, Uruz, Algiz (Eolh) and Tyr (Teiwaz).
-
Nope and nope. Tyr was right, there are two others.
Give you a little hint...one is for protection and the other for strength and health.
-
Nope, not Haegl (Hagalaz). Tyr is in there though. There are three Runes.
Thanks!! I'm pleased with it.
do you know why you can't see it Pantagathus?
-
-
Oh yes, I think I'm guilty of all of those, unfortunately.
I'm also outwardly aggressive...depends on the person and the situation.
-
*growls* I am SO glad I got out of the public school system when I did!! If it were a white kid, they would have been protesting if he WASN'T expelled!!
-
Oh I'm a total web addict too. But there are far worse things to be addicted to.
-
Moon~ Yea that's how I got all mine too. Working with my hands, or doing something stupid.
--Reading material in the bathroom...it's also an excuse to hide in there for a bit, and have a few moments of peace and quiet.Exactly!! Especially if you have annoying family members and that's the only way to escape them.
--Opening jars is all in the wrist...I do it all the time for my mom. If it fails, bang the side of the lid up in a downward motion against the counter...that'll pop the seal.Yep!! The only time I have problems with jars is when they're the wrong size. My fingers are seriously double jointed and I have trouble gripping things at times.
-
How did you get so many? I have 11 or so (some of them from really odd injuries...I have one that looks for all the world like I tried to slit my wrist, but I swear I didn't. I fell on a broken off sapling and it just *happened* to cut in exactly the right place...)
-
I'm reading over this with amusement, seeing how many of these things *I* do. Thankfully, not #24 LOL.
-
My mom used to give me wine until she stopped buying it, because it was too expensive (and also she seemed to think she had a drinking problem, which I really didn't see, but eh...)
-
Awesome as usual Pertinax!!!
-
I'm glad I am getting it worked out too. I can't wait to have a good, sound harp to play . I also can't wait to be able to afford a couple grand "spare cash" to get a custom made one from Heartland Harps!!
And...I know.
-
What a load of (*&%^
It *seems* that eBay is getting better at weeding out the direputables but in this case I'm sure that girl you bought it from knew what she was sending you.
I hope you get it worked out to your advantage!
Actually in her defense I'm not even sure she shipped it out herself. The harp is made by a company over in Pakistan, and they are sold everywhere. Mass-produced sort of thing. Usually they are pretty good, but occasionally something happens to one, it could have been a manufacturing error (they are "hand made mass produced") or it could have been dropped in shipping. I just happened to get a good package deal on Ebay, but I could have bought it anywhere. She might never have actually seen the harp in question.

Yea, I know, right? I'm also old enough to go to war, get maimed, or killed. but I'm not old enough for a beer.

I don't quite understand the "Celtic Cross" either, although I don't see it as a Christian symbol. The equal-armed cross, if I'm not mistaken, has been in use long before the Crucifixion.
