that is so beautiful!

Wow I had no idea there was such use for common violets! (that's what they are called around here. They also come in white and yellow though the other colors are somewhat rare, i've found whole large areas of yellow and white violets)
-
Nah they're pretty common. I think they live in cities here actually.
-
Excellent for insect bites
-
Ok will do. I really don't think I've ever seen leaves on it. I'll look again tomorrow if I remember.
-
These ones are a vibrant purple, the colors in the photograph did not come out exactly but they ARE beautiful. I adore them.
Thanks for your help

OOOO pretty!! I really don't think that particular "paintbrush" has any leaves except for what's on the stems...those little things. They're all flower and about 3 inches tall.
-
hmm...my mom mentioned it might be something called "grecian wind flowers" but I don't know. I've never seen them before they were growing here.

Somehow I missed this lol. Nice armor You're right, a bit showy. I highly doubt any Roman would have gone into battle that way, unless perhaps they were a very high ranking general or something. Even then, that was likely parade armor-something that fancy would get ruined in battle and so probably wouldn't be worn.
On a completely unrelated note...he's kind of cute
BTW what happened to "quick reply"?

LMAO!! I love your "SPAM" and "spam" analogy.

that movie absolutely ROCKS!! I have "Life of Brian" I've been looking around for "Holy Grail" and also "History of the World" (Mel Brooks)

That isn't a chicken it's some sort of mystical beast. Dangit I forget the name of those things. Lol anyone else remember?
-
Why is it creepy?

::gasp:: ooo, so pretty. I wish I lived near some of these things...

LOL AWWWW!!!

good post apocalyse film set
would be except for the risk of the ground opening up beneath you into a firey abyss sinkholes are very common because the coal (which is supporting the ground) is burning away.

Do you know if the edges were intentionally scalloped like that? Or was that the result of the metal being too cold or something when it was stamped?
-
Gorgeous!

SPECTACULAR!!!
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it! and the quality is amazing, having survived this long.
-
Yea, that is very weird. is that a space ship????
I've seen the man headed bull before somewhere, a different representation. It's still creepy.
-
It's beautiful! but why the heck is he holding the bow like that???? I saw the same posture on a statue of Apollo I can't figure it out. Did the sculptor and coin maker not know how to hold a bow or was it a different style??
I LOVE, love love the head of Zeus. It's gorgeous.
BTW are all of these coins yours?

I love it

OOO That looks like what my family calls "sweet clover" except that "sweet clover" has little yellow flowers that are decidedly un clover like. I suspect "sweet clover" is not the correct name, as it is not sweet and about the only thing it has in common with a clover is that it has three leaves The leaves are identical to that. It's quite tasty, I've been known to just pluck it off of the ground and eat it. It tastes great if you are thirsty too
I will try to get a pic of "sweet clover" if I can find any on my property, I doubt I'll find any blooming though we have lots of the stuff (usually blooms a bit later than this and stays blooming all summer pretty much.)
