  1. Fourth Level of Hell

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just before the river Styx is the Fourth Level of Hell. Here, the prodigal and the avaricious suffer their punishment, as they roll weights back and forth against one another. You will share eternal damnation with others who either wasted and lived greedily and insatiably, or who stockpiled their fortunes, hoarding everything and sharing nothing. Plutus, the wolf-like demon of wealth, dwells here.

  2. Once again I find myself completely disgusted that the so-called greatest country in the world offers such pitiful choices to its citizens.

I'm moderate, and McCain in and of himself doesn't seem extremely terrible to me, but his kissing ass of the Religious Right via Palin is a huge black mark.

Obama's only real "qualifications" seem to be that he is young, black, and "for change." I would have voted for Hillary over Obama any day.

  3. I was in Moscow and Petersburg in the 90's as a student. Russian girls can be striking looking, and - yes - they can hold their drinks. But the flip side of that are the hunchbacked babushkas that spend all day crossing themselves in church.

    Anyway, congratulations to your cousin.

And yes, by all means, invite your monk friend here. Some intelligent conversations on the early church would be an interesting change of pace.

  4. You have my condolences. It's never easy when the time comes. I gew very attached to all my animals.

My mother currently owns a West Highland White Terrier. They don't eat much, don't take up much space, and are extremely intelligent and affectionate. However, they are high maintanance, especially the first year. If both of you work during the day, it's probably not a good idea to have one. They also need much exercise, so if you don't have a yard for them to play in it's also not a good idea.

  5. As MPC noted, there is room for original research which you can't find on wikipedia. I think your research will be of great value, though I personally wouldn't have the patience to sift through all those primary resources.

If you feel daunted you can always start out with less demanding research projects.
