  1. Lol, that literally means "The Above Man." My best would be "Homo Adamantis"--> Man of Steel. You can replace Homo with Vir if you don't want a homo in it.
  2. Unfortunately, you're a consul living in the imperial era under the reign of his Lord Majesty and Dominus Viggen.
  3. To refute: "Over generations the caves grew crowded with boxes, and families, eager to conserve space, often put two or three
  4. Sigh, I hope those idiots know that Jesus, Mary, Joseph, etc weren't the only ones around at the time with those first names.
  5. "A tsunami, here on the coast, never gonna happen." - Virgil61 "I just love the strong breezes up here on this wall." - Humpty Dumpty
  6. I have such a hard time imagining plebeians conducting orgies, just doesn't seem right for them. I can only think of noble women and prostitutes.
  7. Bah 122/180 on difficult. Poor me, I had no idea the jackass put cities from different centuries on. Edit. 142/180 on second difficult try.
  8. You can buy it at Borders in the foreign films section PP. I saw the DVD, but I was like apprehensive about the film demonizing the German soldiers(I hate it when they do that), so I didn't bother.
  9. Oops, you're right Ramses. But the Persians nevertheless adopted and improved the system greatly.
  10. I believe the majority were either forced to convert or pay very heavy taxes or lest be killed depending on the mood of the Arabs. However, large pockets of Christians sucessfully resisted Muslim advance, e.g. Maronite Christians, Coptic Christians, Syrian Catholic church, Cappadocian Christians...etc[Note the names are kinda modern]
  11. Sigh,I really don't know whether to trust Herodotus any more. I believe the Persians were the first to build actual roads and first to create a pony express.
  12. "Let's charge up Kettle Hill and let those 6 Spanish soldiers fire at a whole calvary when I'm the only one on a horse." - Theodore Roosevelt Well, Theodore didn't die there, but he should have died given the extremely stupid things he had done. "What the hell is a naia haie." - Cleopatra "Man, I really should stop drinking." - Atila " Did Nostradamus really say I was gonna die?" - Henry II "Suckering Suckertash" - Sylvest aka The Pooty Cat
  13. In my opinion, if you really want to compare a language, choose ancient Greek. After I learned it, I thought the Romans basically stole the Greek language and modified it.
  14. Uhm...it's called Westernization and the majority of the world uses English in terms of the economy. Also consider the fact that though people may hate the US, but if given the chance, they would live there. Kinda odd, but that's my opinion. I can assure you, Flavius, that here is one who would NOT!!! Yes, that is because you have no need to or for whatever preference. However, let's say you asked a population of refugees or a third-world population. Obviously, the majority of them would prefer moving to the US because they know that conditions there are much better and most importantly, a better chance of survival. Generosity also happens to improve image too ya know.

  16. In order to subdue this embarassing circumstance, boy says that he and girl are getting married, shocking the parents to a point where sex might be justified. Oh wait, that makes no sense
  17. Sigh, what's with you people and eating rare living fossils.
  18. Yes, you are fighting for a losing cause. The only things I can point out is(and they are very weak points): The Han army was easily fed by rice year round due to the climate and they always had greater #s. Insurrection by the army against the Han dynasty was not that common due to the fact that the Chinese culture was very ardent in that the fact that the emperor was supreme(that and the fact he never left the Forbidden city much).
  19. Then you had better get cracking! BTW, what does that statement mean? Does it have meaning? Don't forget to read Tom Paine. Which ones from Thomas Paine? Common Sense or his bickering about Pres. Washington.
  20. Funny, leftist radicals ( Have you ever heard of the angle -side- side proof of congruity in geometry?) I know here in America deny that Christianity is the public religion of the US. Do you know that the USA made a treaty with the Barbary States declaring that Christianity is not the religion of the USA? That this treaty is the Law of the USA? I am sure that you have read the Constitution of the USA. Therefor, would you please enlighten all as to where God or Christianity is mentioned therein? (Actually, there is mention, but I'll leave that to you.) I never intended to say it was officially recognized, just intending to say that the public image and history of the US has largely been associated with the Christian faith. Yes, I realize my wording sucked, so my fault Octavius. And before anyone questions my Constitution knowledge, I'll say this: 92% on the High School AP US Constitution test.
