  1. I don't know if it was worse than medieval dungeons, though it must have been pretty bad (resists urge to make rather sick prison comparison) All I know, is modern day prisoners don't have much right to complain...many of them have better lives awaiting execution than the law-abiding model citizens can afford....and the law abiding model citizens are paying for it...no wonder we have so many criminals BTW was anything found except for the rooms? Such as restraining devices, torture devices, or the like that would give some insight onto their use/conditions?
  2. Thanks...i guess. My mom is refusing to allow me to give my address so that it can be sent to me. She threw a fit when I told her...seriously. ::cry::
  3. I replaced my boring "happy holidays" desktop i made myself with a pic of gladiators
  4. What? lol Merry ChristmaHanaKwanzaYule everyone! Ok, ok, sorry, I just could not bring myself to utter the rediculously politically correct "season's greetings" May you be blessed, whatever you celebrate
  5. See I'm rather fond of the Caesar dynasty (is that the same as Julio-Claudian?) The most obvious reasons are Julius Caesar (who built the foundation for a central govt essentially) and Caesar Augustus ("found Rome bricks and left it marble")
  6. Could also be a warhammer type thing.

    Snow

So the Gods blessed us with heavy wet white stuff that needed removal from the driveway...again. It actually wasn't all that hard to shovel this time... This is what Sullivan County PA (specifically, my back yard) looks like after a snowstorm.
  11. hm...What is it? I've heard of it but I'm never quite sure...
  12. YUMMY!! ::is now hungry:: I want. Man those plebs are better off than I am...
  13. No way, I wasn't going to kill him off! It would have made a good story but I wasn't going to kill him off!
  14. That....would hurt. Seriously, not a good thing to fight in.
  15. ::laughs:: I doubt it. I can never write anything longer than a short story I...forget what I wanted to say or get bored with it before I finish.
  16. Oh, I see. I thought he was still alive when she did it. That would make it a rather difficult manuver to pull off (Open wide and say "ahh"...::JAB:: ) Poor Cicero!
  17. Thanks guys! If I'd known I'd get this much support, I'd share my writings with you more often. Of course, most of my writing has nothing to do with Rome, but I will certainly keep it up

Good shading! Excellent use of perspective as well, especially on the angle of the guys face and the arm It does look rather odd in the thumbnail view...I was wondering what, exactly it was before I saw the larger version. I like your style though It's cool. Might I ask why you can see the bones in the one guy's leg? I'm sure you intended it, and it looks neat, I was just wondering why you did it that way
  19. Oh ^_^ Thank you! I'm a better poet than I am story writer...but most of my poems todate have been self pitying drivel...I wrote a few really good ones though.
  20. Lol yea, I thought of it in english, and decided to make it in Latin to be more Roman. Unfortunately, while Freedom is an acceptable (albeit strange) male name in America, apparently it was more than a bit strange in Rome I may actually change it so that the child is female to correct for this, but I have not decided yet. The sex of the child really isn't all that important to the story it was simply alot of changing of words and I was likely to miss some. Thanks btw
  21. The youth sat by the fireplace; its light warmed the center of the room while the corners remained cold. The stone wicked cold into the darkness, making the firelight all the more welcoming. The youth
  22. Ah, ok. I was going for something that would be known to mean "freedom" by those in attendance. I'll use what you came up with though probly post it later tonite...about ready to leave now.
