Ok, this is going to sound weird, but does anyone know the name of the Roman music instrament that has "appeared" in both the Gladiator music and more recently, Empire? It's...very high pitched and reedy.... It kind of sounds like someone is choking a bagpipe

Julius actually looked like Julius. They didn't show him for long enough to tell whether or not he acted like the real thing...I think they were more concerned with the senate then Caesar himself. All in all I think their protrayal of Caesar was fairly accurate. I hope this isn't off topic but I think it's hilarious how striking the resemblance between Cassius and Dubya

I'm an...."ecclectic pagan" I guess...I believe in all of the Gods (Roman, Greek, Celtic, etc.) but I usually only pray to The Morrigan and occasionally Brighid and others for specific things.

hm...off the top of my head: Chainmail=lorica hamata Segmented plate stuff (is there an english word??)=lorica segmenta or segmentata depending on who you ask Roman shortsword=gladius Javalin type thing=pilum Roman dagger=pudgio (i may have spelled that wrong) and that's all I can think of right now Shield=scutum

i've checked into the chat room several times, and no one seems to be on whenever i'm there. does anyone ever go in there? maybe we should set a time for chat so that people will all be there at the same time (like 7-10 or something)
