  1. Even if he DIDN'T start the fire and was simply taking advantage, what kind of horrible leader does something so selfish *in response to* one of the greatest disasters ever to face his people?????
  2. ::grins:: I found that....about 2 minutes after I realized you had a main site
  3. Hehe well I was shooting without an armguard so I was half afraid to pull the bow all the way back. I'm going to tape my arm with horse wrap today...and my fingers too hehe I don't have a tab...or a glove... Its a Viper longbow, 45 lb. I'll take a picture and post it when I get the thing strung. I forgot yesterday. ::edit:: Pictures can now be found in my gallery
  4. I use Firefox and I have popup blocker but I don't believe it blocks anything from this site.
  5. I would guess it was a mixture of both. To them, even the slightest little thing was a sign from the Gods. To them, the Gods were right there with them, in every aspect of life. There was no escaping them, or them leaving whichever spin you want to put on that the gods were always there. I believe there was definitely an element of fear there, as you can see by the accounts of plagues and floods and anything else being taken as signs that the Gods were angry. But there was also a healthier respect shown in many of their traditions.
  6. I discovered a *slight* glitch. When you go to edit a post (on the forum) and it goes to that screen that says "please wait while we transfer you" it never transfers.
  7. ::grins:: I make several posts a day in it. I was thinking of joining LiveJournal but...I was too lazy

    Cohort

Now this IS cool. I would post my "centurion glow" but its an edited painting by somebodyorother and I don't have the copyright.

    Wolf Feather

Did this as a...I guess you would call it a comission although it was a small one I'm really proud of it I wish I didn't have to part with it.
  10. Ok, this is confusing and hard to find too. You click on "comments" (where it says 0 comments or however many) THEN you can click "fast reply" at the bottom.
  11. ::nods:: I believe *some* things are an omen, not all. I do wonder why people build in the places they do though. They have their really expensive houses right on the beach when they know they are going to get their pretty glass house smacked with several hurricanes each year. Or they build on the side of volcanoes (fertile farmland I know) but I saw one guy who built on an active volcano and lost everything about ever 10 or so years. Did they do this in Rome too?
  12. LOL thanks. I didn't mean to make him creepy...
  13. This is painted on a feather. I've done four of these type paintings so far.
  14. I painted this last year. I think its the best "normal" (on canvas, not on something weird) painting I've ever done.

    Gladiator

This sweet little gladiator was colored with five Prismacolor pencils (which aren't so great BTW)

    Caesar Bust

A bust of Caesar made in art class. (along with my other things on my bookshelf.) Sorry the picture is kind of dark...I took it in the dark.
  17. You should make the option to create a gallery or upload an image available on the main Gallery page, because currently it's very hard to find (I found it by accident after I'd given up looking for it)
  18. I painted this not long ago...and now bear one last scar gained in tribute to this great man. (I cut myself on the easel while painting it)
  19. Awesome! Thanks! (I first encountered this feature here and have grown quite addicted to it)
  20. Awesome! These new buttons and such are going to take some getting used to lol. Can we get quickreply back? I look forward to the blog function.
  21. Anything about gladiators and I'm there ::is slightly obsessed::
  22. There's some articles around here somewhere on Roman entertainment (not in the forums, on the main site) that has info about gladiators and such.
  23. What bothers me is some of the people...not all of them mind you. This man was on the news, his kids were crying because they had not had any fresh water to drink in days and *he* was angry because he hadn't had a shower in four days and was "starting to get funky". HIS KIDS HAD NO WATER!! And all he cares about is that he can't get a shower.
